Since the northeast is on the list of places that will see regular snowfall throughout the winter months, Three D is prepared long in advance and has a fleet of snow clearing vehicles to get the job done. The first to be dispatched for “de-icing” are gritters who do most of the plowing but also salt the roadway or parking lot. De-icing is defined as removal of existing snow, ice or frost from a roadway, airport runway, or other surface. It includes both mechanical means, such as plowing or scraping, and the application of salt or other ice-melting substances. The salt helps melt the snow and ice and also gives vehicles more traction. Later, usually when the snow has ceased falling, snowplows, front-end loaders with snowplow attachments and graders push snow to the sides. Salt trucks often then return to deal with any remaining ice and snow. Finally any remaining sidewalks or pedestrian traffic areas get taken care of via hand shovels, walk behind snow blowers (or snow throwers), truck plows, skid-steers, light-weight tractors, and heavy front-end loaders. Since snow and ice control is a significant and often unpredictable task, let Three D handle your snow removal needs. Three D has the training, knowledge, experience and equipment to insure your facility will operate in the safest manner possible during the 2019 winter season.
